We’ve been seeing a lot of movies about young female assassins as of late (perhaps partially due to the popularity of Hit Girl in Kick-Ass) and later this year we’ll be getting an action-comedy called Barely Lethal starring Hailee Steinfeld in addition to a live action adaptation of Yasuomi Umetsu’s anime Kite. The latter stars India Eisley as an orphaned teenage girl who is trained to become a cold-blooded killer by the ex-partner (Samuel L. Jackson) of her murdered father. Directed by Ralph Ziman (Gangster’s Paradise: Jerusalema), Kite will hit theatres sometime in 2014.
